  Northstar Named Burrow's Buying Agent

April 1, 2003

Northstar Pulp & Paper Co., Inc, Springfield, MA. has been named the exclusive agent for secondary fiber procurement by Burrows Paper Corporation, Little Falls, N.Y.

Northstar, a recycling company with operating facilities and brokerage offices in the United States and Europe, and Burrows Paper Corporation, an integrated recycled pulp and packaging concern with plants throughout the U.S. and Europe, recently agreed to terms for Northstar to assume full responsibility for "fibering" Burrows' Little Falls, New York recycled pulp mill.

Effective March 10, 2003, Northstar will put its fiber sourcing expertise and network to work insuring quality and consistency of material to the Burrows mill.

"We look forward to providing our partner with the quality, consistency, and price advantages that are difficult for middle market mills to secure in a consolidating industry without the resources of an experienced, dedicated full time staff of professionals," said Noah Goodman, principal of Northstar.

Burrows is excited about the pricing leverage, quality and processing flexibility their new partner will provide the mill in the coming years.

"Northstar will provide us (Burrows) with the tools necessary to compete in an increasingly international arena for secondary fiber," stated Ralph Renzulli, Materials Manager of Burrows. "Together we are better prepared to mitigate the cyclical and secular changes in our industry that continue to threaten viability of a mill of our size."

Northstar is a leading paper recycler who has taken an aggressive position in consulting with fiber generators and paper mills alike on reducing "friction" and costs in the supply chain.

Northstar and Burrows invite you to visit them during paper week at the Waldorf Astoria, Suite 11A to review opportunities and entertain possibilities to be part of their exciting new venture.
